Color Washing

Color washing
on walls is a painting technique that originated in the 14th century with a lime based paint called Distemper. The literal definition is to blend two opaque colors together at the same time. This creates a great look on a wall resembling aged plaster. Distemper color washing is thought to be the mother technique of decorative wall finishes. This same look can be achieved with latex paint by adding some extender to it and then blending two or more colors together. Try using a good sky blue and white paint and create a beautiful sky effect (see sample #?).
